When I was recently speaking to a friend on the kind of break he likes, he mentioned a place that is cut off and far removed from the chaos of his demanding job. Located close to Bengaluru International Exhibition Center (BIEC), Aalaya is nestled amidst 8 acres of tranquility. The name Aalaya is a secular name and translates to temple and hence this is the place for “celebration of happiness”. Ideal as a venue for weddings, especially small intimate ceremonies, this place is also ideal for leadership off sites, corporate getaways and family outings.
According to Pradeep Gowriraju, Founder & CHO, well he is Chief Happiness Officer, “we have already done three weddings here and the event venues we have include the lawn, an amphitheater, a small stage area and a 5 bedroom villa.” The team has tied up with hotels nearby and can assist with booking additional rooms if required.
Making the Difference
How a stay here works is simple. Once you connect with the team, there is a discussion of the occasion and what you need to make it a special day to remember. Everything is done for the guest on the basis of how they want to experience the place. The team then puts the entire experience together to curates the stay to perfection.
“As far as food for the guests is concerned we can handle upto 40 guests in the in house kitchen. Additional catering can be arranged by the team. Standard activities including outdoor games like football, tennis and badminton are available. However if someone wants a musical performance we arrange for say a guitarist to come and play with a bonfire in the evenings. Likewise we have pottery making sessions, village tours to the neighbouring village or even cookout sessions where husbands can cook for the wives. We also have movie nights where we screen movies in the outdoors. Likewise if couples want privacy, we let them be. Food can also be custom made to the taste of the guests.”
