Come November and the countdown to the New Year begins and one of the best ways to usher in the festivities, is well, cake mixing or fruit mixing. Well cakes and the New Year go hand in hand and this is arguably the best time to participate in the fun and festivities. When I recently received an invitation to attend a fruit mixing at The Lalit Ashok, Bangalore by good friend and MARCOM & PR Manager Sandhya Nair, I decided to do just that.

The fruits were arranged in a rainbow formation and the best thing was a large red heart at the center. Executive Chef Ashish Kumar Sanyal explained that the heart was symbolic of the season of love and the fact that everyone was going to be included in the festivities. A thought that resonated with everyone present.

After the mixing, we sampled an array of sweets and savouries like Crispy Poori topped with Masala Aloo, Spinach & Feta Pinwheels, Hummus with Laban, Green Tea Yoghurt Mousse, Red Velvet Pastry, Oreo & Cream Scones and more.

In all this was a fun evening – one that I will remember for long simply because it was superbly organised and was an evening with its heart in the right place!
