Detox after Binging

Spread the love

Festive bingeing is common, in a matter of a few days, we end up loading up on calories through the traditional treats made of ghee, sweet and refined ingredients.

The best detox would be to switch to natural food – fruits, vegetables and lots of water. Cut down on sugar-laced juices, coffee, tea and carbonated drinks for at least a week. Restricting meat also may help. A warm cup of water with a squeeze of lemon without sugar in the morning cleanses the system.

Lemon water, tender coconut and buttermilk are great options as far as detox drinks are concerned. An amazing detox drink is to make golden milk, which has the key ingredients of turmeric and coconut milk. “Both these ingredients cool the body and help with inflammation. Turmeric infused green tea is also amazing for getting rid of bloating/gas,” says Radhika Iyer, Entrepreneur and Founder of Anahata Organic and Raa Foundation, Yogini, Mountaineer and Philanthropist.

Neha Gupta, Founder & Restaurateur, Beyond Designs Bistro says, “just restrict calories for a few weeks and increase physical activity, whichever you enjoy. A glass of freshly churned milkshake is also recommended to alkalise the system. Fresh air, plain water, simple natural food and proper rest will ensure you bounce back to normalcy very soon.”
