What: Mighty Small, Smaaash

Ambience: Spread over 17000 square feet over two levels Smaaash, blends gaming and food seamlessly. With sports, virtual reality, music and dining all under one roof, this is a place for the whole family. The carnival-themed restaurant is done up in hues of brown and red and has a fun vibe with a bar counter that doubles up as a dance floor and a private space that works like a charm for parties and even board meetings. The best part for me is the stunning views of the Ulsoor Lake  from the table that makes the setting quite spectacular.

What we ate and drank: We sampled a selection of vegetarian specialities from the menu starting with the crunchy Insalata Caesar Salad that was the best appetizer. Made with Iceberg and Romaine Lettuce, herbs, Croutons, Cherry Tomato, bell Peppers and Parmesan Shavings, this was crunchy and fresh. We also sampled the innovative Cheese cucumber boat salad that has cheese mixed with fruits stuffed in a cucumber boat and the fresh cucumber is perfect with the creamy cheese fruit mix. The onion and capsicum rings were done to crispy perfection and the bang bang sauce served alongside was a great accompaniment. The Tandoori Paneer is served innovatively with the paneer hanging on a skewer in a wood tray with salad and green chutney. Slightly on the spicy side, the paneer though was succulent. The Pav Bhaji Fondue is another interesting dish thanks to its contemporary interpretation. Served with Mini toast, butter cubes and chopped onion, the bhaji has a cheesy top that is heated with a tea light candle. Also try the Veggie Lovers thin crust pizza that is topped with bell peppers, corn, jalapeno, onion, black and green olives. And yes they have a selection of drinks and this meal is best washed down with the Strawberry Fizz a mocktail with strawberry and apple juice that is sweet and sour and is topped with soda. End your meal with a Nutella Banana Peanut Butter Pretzel, a milk shake that is topped with freshly whipped cream that melts in your mouth. It has a nutty and chocolate flavour that makes it a great way to end this meal.

What we’d eat again: Definitely the onion rings for the crispy flavour and the flavourful milkshakes that look as good as they taste.

Here is a recipe of Tandoori Paneer from the culinary team at Mighty Small

Ingredients

200g paneer

2 tbsp besan flour

1/4 tsp turmeric Powder

1/2 tsp red chilli powder

1/4 tsp ajwain

1/2 tsp cumin powder

1/2 tsp coriander powder

2-3 tbsp yoghurt

1/2 tsp tandoori masala powder

1/2 tsp garam masala powder

1 tsp ginger garlic paste

1/2 tsp chat masala

2 – 3 tsp oil

1 tsp lemon juice

Salt, to taste

Method

Wash and slice paneer into fine cubes. In a mixing bowl, add besan flour, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, yoghurt, salt, tandoori masala powder, ginger garlic paste and chat masala powder. Squeeze few drops of lemon juice and blend well.

Heat 2 – 3 tsp of oil and once it is hot pour over the mixture and mix. Now add the paneer cubes and coat well with the masala. Allow to marinate for 30 minutes

Meanwhile, dice the veggies onion, tomato and capsicum to cubes. Squeeze few drops of lemon juice over it and sprinkle salt, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, and 1/2 tsp red chilli powder. Give a good mix and set aside

Soak the bamboo sticks in water for 20mins to avoid burning of the sticks while grilling in the oven. Now skewer the paneer, onion, tomato, capsicum alternatively in the sticks. Brush it with oil. Grill on the flame (Tandoor) for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from tandoor, turn the skewers and brush them with butter.
