The 2023 monsoons in India have come with a trail of destruction as there have been rivers in spate and life thrown out of gear.
This year India has seen torrential rains in its monsoons. Rivers that have consistently breached their danger levels have overflown into cities, dams have bene opened and cities are now flooded.
A lack of proper urban planning and adequate drainage has meant that cars have been submerged and water has entered several homes. All of this has had a multiplier affect and destroyed lives and livestock.
The fury of the rain has also meant that climate change is a reality. With most of the affected places in North India been prone to excessive real estate development, land slides have become a common occurance.
