The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) workshop ‘Meghdhoot – The cloud messenger’ seeks to interpret select verses of poet Kalidasa.

And if you are looking to delve deeper, NCPA’s has a workshop that will help you broaden your perception towards the written art form and understand the thoughts of the original poet who in this case is one of the greatest Sanskrit poets in India – Kalidasa.

The sessions conducted by Dr. Rishiraj Pathak a multi-talented poet, musician, and dance litterateur and Sanskrit Scholar will have guest speakers Piyal Bhattacharya, Subodh Poddar and Sandhya Raman, to focus on dance, visual art and costume design respectively.

The workshop will have a dance interpretation by artist, Piyal Bhattacharya who will explore the multidisciplinary and multilayered nuances of Indian art through a dance drama presentation in Urdu. Visual Artist, Subodh Podar says, “any art is a division of space. Space on stage translated on my paper is the basis of my art. Yaksha is a concept that stirs emotions within me, my memories and my aspirations.”
