A salon outing at Jean-Claude Biguine is a fun way to give yourself a makeover, French style.

Jean-Claude Biguine is a 150 million euro global chain of salons and spas and one of the leading French beauty houses spanning over 20 countries with 400 salons and spas. The salon at Lavelle Road in Bengaluru is an expansive one done up in muted tones and beautiful light fixtures.

It had been a while that I have looked after my skin and was experiencing some dryness and dullness in my face. This was the same time that I had the opportunity to visit Jean-Claude Biguine salon and it felt perfectly timed.

Face Time

On my arrival here I was comfortably seated and offered water and tea and my therapist Asmi from Manipur checked my skin first. When I told her I had sensitive skin she suggested that I go for the Source Marine Facial, an intensive hydrating treatment for the skin. Since the base uses marine products that mimic the natural minerals of the skin, it would be idea she explained. So I changed and laid down on my bed in the treatment room. My facial started with an energizing spray, the Thalgo reviving marine mist that has gentle cleansing milk so it is also good for eyes and a Welcome Touch Massage. My therapist asked me to take a few deep breaths while she pressed my forehead and chest in tandem that instantly seem to relax me. The 60-minute marine-based facial started with a cleansing procedure after which a toner was applied and patted dry. Then my therapist used a scrub and a massage facial cream that had macadamia nut oil and raspberry seed oil which she used to massage my face with circular strokes using the Thalgo massage technique. After this I was given a steam and she removed my black heads using her gloved hands. After spraying the toner, she applied a thick mask that dried off in 10 minutes and could be peeled clean. Since this is a marine-based, intensely hydrating facial mask that contains nutrient-rich sea water that provides deep, long-lasting hydration, my skin felt both refreshed and radiant once the procedure was completed. And yes, all the dryness had vanished from my face almost magically.

Mane Bane

The next treatment I tried was the Moroccan Organic Hair Spa. My therapist Nagarjun from Bangalore first asked me what issues I had with my hair and when I explained that I had frizzy and dry hair, he suggested this treatment. The first step here is the application of the Moroccanoil dry scalp oil in sections all over the hair especially helpful for dry scalp. Once done my hair was given an intense massage for about 10 minutes and after that it was allowed to rest for another 10 minutes. Post this it was shampooed twice using Wella Professionals Pure, a purifying shampoo. After this he patted my hair dry and while it was still moist mixed together an intensive Morrocanoil Restorative Hair Mask with a few drops of Morrocanoil Treatment and applied the same in my hair. After this my hair was neatly combed and I was given a mist for 10 minutes. After this my hair was rinsed thoroughly with warm water and a repair conditioner was applied. Patting my hair dry he then applied Morrocanoil and blow dried my hair. At the end, my hair felt soft and all the frizz had vanished completely. Through the treatment I also felt relaxed and in all this was a salon outing that I needed for a while and it was a well spent few hours that had a calming effect on my senses too. So what are you waiting for? The salon has an extensive menu of treatments that will help you reconnect with yourself and give you the much needed “me time” as well.
