Review of Zone by The Park, Jodhpur

Spread the love

A holiday at the Blue City of Jodhpur just got better with Zone by The Park’s young and peppy property that will infuse more colour to your getaway.

An eclectic pop of colour gives you a cheery welcome at Zone by The Park, Jodhpur located in an industrial belt and slightly away from the humdrum of the city. Pops of orange, blue and green greet you and the ‘social by nature’ property yet has a warm vide that is hard to miss.

Getting Roomy

The 90 rooms at Zone by The Park Jodhpur are well appointed, spacious and comfortable. Equipped with Coffee & Tea maker, HDTV, in-room safe, packaged mineral water, mini bar, toiletries, iron with board and free wifi the rooms are done up in a contemporary chic manner. The Zone Rooms are base category rooms that are spacious and are spread over 260 to 290 square feet with a Hill or Palace View. The Zone Deluxe rooms are between 320 to 330 square feet and have an extra sofa cum bed with stunning city views. The Zone Luxe are large rooms with the palace or hill views that are between 350 to 410 square feet. Of the 90 rooms, 60 rooms have sofa cum beds so it can accommodate an extra person easily. The room I stayed in had orange sofas, green curtains and yellow cushions that added a zing to the interiors. Also the design of the room itself was clutter free and everything arranged in neat sections. Cupboards on either side of the cupboard, a place for the luggage, nooks with charging points on either side of the bed and all an organizer for the tea/coffee essentials. Likewise the bathroom is divided into the shower and dry areas with a plain glass and the layout is well organized. A room that is functional, practical and trendy too.

Foody Tales

Bazaar is the 24 hour restaurant that also serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner (based on occupancy). With a concept of a local market the décor is peppy and full of buzz. As soon as you enter the restaurant you see a stand full of local products that are displayed in neat shelves and the patterned tiles on the floor make for an interesting contrast to the patchwork fabric upholstery. The 130 cover restaurant has an a la carte menu that focuses on fusion food. You can try this when you choose dishes like Cheese Papad Croquette a vegetable and cheese dumpling coated with papad and is served crispy fried. Even the Couscous cheese galouti is an interesting dish where the mouth melting wheat semolina kebabs are seasoned with Indian spices. Likewise you can also try the Sangri ki tikki made with the local freshly picked desert beans gallets. A favourite is of course the hot chilli basil paneer that is a must try. The Zone Chicken 65 made with chicken, butter milk, peanuts and curry leaves is a take on the popular South Indian Chicken 65. The fusion concept is also seen in the Pizzas with the Pav Bhaji pizza and Uttapam pizza. If you prefer to go local try the Kair kaju dak ki sabji made with karira berry, cashew nut and rasin cooked in a yoghurt based gravy or the Chakki ki sabji made with gluten chunks, curd, onion, tomatoes and chilli.

The Martaban ka paneer a cottage cheese dish cooked in a rich tomato gravy flavoured with mathania pickled chilli and the Martaban ka Murgh a chicken variant are signature dishes too. The restaurant has a wide selection of Oriental and international dishes and the Bajre ka risotto a fusion risotto made with pearl millet needs a special mention. Also keep space for the award winning dish Palak Khoya halwa made with spinach creamed with condensed milk – you will never know it has spinach in it! And for a chilled out evening head to the z-bar that is known for its specialized cocktails and mocktails too. Urban Spice Box is a rooftop restaurant in the pipeline that will focus on grills. Incidentally the view from the rooftop is amazing as it gives you a bird’s eye view of the city of Jodhpur and its iconic sights like Umaid Bhavan and Meherangarh Fort.

Spaces & More

The hotel is equipped with fully equipped gym and a swimming pool construction is underway. There are useful facilities like a Doctor-on-call and a Travel assistance desk as well. A business center with high speed Internet access is also available on site. Meeting and banquet spaces and a lawn are also available for functions. “Jodhpur is a well-known destination and is growing in the tourism map. Also it is well known as a wedding destination and this hotel currently has the largest inventory of rooms among all the operating Zone hotels. We also won the best casual dining award at an award show recently. We are able to cater to the corporate, social and leisure markets equally. This is a design conscious yet pocket friendly brand and each aspect is interconnected and related. There is a strong local connect with everything that makes this the preferred choice to stay, eat and explore,” says Harish Kumar, General Manager. And it is hard not to agree with him. So the next time you are in Jodhpur, check into the Zone for an experience that is intelligently differentiated.
