Staycation at Signature Club Resort

Spread the love

‘Tis the season – well of cake mixing. And when I received an invitation to be part of the cake mixing event at Signature Club Resort with a staycation, I decided to go for it. So here are my top 5 reasons why you should go to the resort for your staycation.sigI. Stay in Bengaluru yet away from the hustle and bustle

Say Bengaluru and its legendary traffic comes in mind. But at the Signature Club Resort you will be far removed from any of the urban chaos. Located, close to the airport, the resort is nestled in a sprawling 130-acre smart township within Brigade Orchards one of India’s top 3 smart townships. The 45 well-appointed rooms with 28 king-size rooms, 12 twin-bedrooms and 5 Suites are set amidst lush green landscapes and offer all contemporary amenities including a mini bar, work desk, wifi connectivity and more. The best part is the balcony that has a table and chairs that allows you to soak in views of the property (some also face the pool). I was lucky to catch a magnificent sunset here too and the mornings are lovely with winged visitors like egrets, bulbuls and drongos.

II. Tuck into some delectable food

A staycation is all about good food and Sous Chef Thayanithy Tamilarasu and his team ensures that there is an abundant choice of delectable options. You can dine at Tamarind, the multi-cuisine restaurant that serves extensive buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you enjoy your drinks lounge in the Pavilion Bar. I particularly liked the bright and cheery alfresco Courtyard Café which serves refreshments in the form of short eats, snacks, desserts and tea/coffee and allows you to enjoy the greenery of the landscape.

III. Reconnect with your sporty side

Unlike other resorts that have an array of activities that you may or may not access, the Signature Club Resort has several indoor activities. These include indoor badminton, squash, table tennis, billiards/snooker, chess, pool as well as outdoor tennis and cricket grounds. The temperature controlled swimming pool is also indoor and also has a baby pool for very small kids. Certainly, a place for the family to unwind. A yoga pavilion and fully functional gym are also available on site for the health conscious!

IV. Participate in fun events

There are fun events that are always happening here. When I was here I was part of a cake mixing and gingerbread making event that was a good way to get your hands working. The experience was insightful and I learnt a thing or two of how to build a perfect gingerbread house too. And yes, it was a reminder that Christmas is not too far away!

V. Explore the lesser known parts of Bengaluru

If you like offbeat travel experiences, the resort is ideally situated to visit the Devanahalli Fort that dates back to the year 1501 spread over an area of 20 acres and a has a spacious battlement within the inner fortification. Else head to Nandi Hills that has an ancient Dravidian temple dedicated to Nandi the Bull. This was Tipu Sultan’s favourite summer retreat and the verdant greens are a treat for sore eyes. If you are up to it, take a trek up to Skandagiri Betta, an ancient mountain fortress overlooking the Nandi Hills. This is also the place where grapes are cultivated and the Grover Wine Tour that will take you through the entire winemaking process with a tasting session and a sumptuous lunch.

In fact the Signature Club Resort is also ideal to host meetings, events and conferences and is a great space for offsite retreats. The staff are warm and courteous and this is what makes a stay here memorable.
