Stories – The Brew Chapter Restaurant Review

Spread the love

Stories The Brew Chapter (STBC) is Bengaluru’s newest and greenest microbrewery and when I was invited to sample the food I went wondering what kind of vegetarian fare to expect. However the choice is quite extensive and the food is presented innovatively too.

Located at BTM 2nd Stage, STBC the decor is dominated with plants, shrubs and miniature trees set amidst wooden picnic tables and chairs with wrought iron wheels, glass ceilings and the open sky. Towards evening, the fairy lights, muted lighting, hanging contemporary lamps and neon lights add a new look and feel to the space.

While this is a micro brewery, there are several kinds of craft beers that you can try here but being a teetotaler I sampled some interesting mocktails like Stories Delight an orange based drink and Mint and Ginger that is refreshingly fresh.

Among the appetizers I tried the Palak Chole ki Tikki, a spinach based cutlet that was wholesome and served with mango chutney, microgreens and crispy tuile.

I also tried the Paneer Papdi Roll, fried cottage cheese and lijat papad served in fig chitney and served in shot glasses that is crunch and leaves a nice bite.

The Cheese Garlic Bread served here is quite different and tasty as well and the dip itself is a powder that adds to the spice in case you want to add a zing to your food.

For the main course I tried the Penne Pasta in Arrabiata sauce, a delightful mix of vegetables, penne and cheese tossed in tomato based Arrabita sauce. I also tried some Indian food and my votes goes to the Spinach and Cheese Roulade, that was an interesting dish of cottage cheese rolled in spinach and served with an in house special gravy, Makhan Wali Dal, a new take on the favourite Dal Makhani that teamed well with the bread basket that has Roti and Aloo Paratha.

Ending the meal with desserts, I tried the Nutella Baklava, field with dry fruits and a dash of nutella and the absolute winner the Chilled Rabdi Cake, a layered cake that never feels too sweet.

    1. Yes this one was an excellent dish, Monika, not too sweet either.
Not over indulged really, its a big space and their premise is to be the greenest micro brewery. Outside of course its all plastic as they say maintenance is an issue.
