Travelogue – Lucerne

Spread the love

Lucerne is a city in Switzerland that is charming, quiet and full of interesting sights and sounds all in one.

One of my most favourite countries in the world, Switzerland has an infinite charm that you can discover one city at a time. This time it was Lucerne and I was glad to explore this quaint city with its numerous sights.

The 14th century Chapel Bridge Kapellbrücke over the Reuss River is a wooden footbridge that connects the Old Town on the northern bank with the New Town on the opposite side of the river. The octagonal Water Tower here makes this the most photographed monument of Lucerne.

The Old town here is great to explore on foot as there are several buildings with interesting paintings that you will see.

Lucerne also has the Picasso Museum as well as an interesting Transport museum that must not be missed.

You must also visit the Chapel here as well as check out the farmers market for fresh seasonal produce and local cheese.
