Arunima Singh has done pioneering work in the conservation of turtles, tortoises, crocodilians, and Gangetic dolphins.

She has to her credit rescued over 25000 turtles and done much work in the field of conservation of these aquatic animals.

• Established assurance colonies for 13 species and breeding colonies for 8 threatened North Indian turtle species.
• Developed hatching and rearing protocol for H. thurjii and C. indica first time in Asia and collected critical husbandry and behavioural information on five more species of turtles and Gharial.
• Identified nine turtle priority sites for urgent need of protection owing to diversity and population dynamics along Ghaghra-Sarju river system.
• Assisted with rescue, repatriation, and rehabilitation of over 28,000 turtles (16 species), four adult Gharials and six Marsh Crocodiles and 20 Gangetic dolphins in the last 8 years.
• Assisted the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department in supplementing Gharials in Ghaghra-Geruwa River.
• Engaged over 30 families from riverine communities for alternate livelihood training programs along Ghaghra-Sarju River system.
