Manish Chavda

Spread the love

Manish grew up in Jamnagar, Gujurat in a simple family without too many means. He loved drawing all the time. He hopes that a lot of people will go to the gallery and experience his work in person.

“As you can see in my work, nature is my biggest inspiration. Being in nature somehow allows me to connect with myself. When I am not in nature, meditating helps me make this connection, and both are an integral part of my work. For this reason, I like to spend a lot of time in nature, and observe its creatures, plants, and trees, even the sky and the clouds. I slowly started painting these birds in nature, and it became a very therapeutic process for me. As a child I did many walks through there looking at the birds, and they truly fascinated me. Birds have since become a major point of focus in my work,” he says.

The colours in nature are his main inspiration. When one observes nature closely, one can see that green actually has thousands of green, as does, red, blue, orange and every other colour. Watching the skies offers such an amazing range of everchanging shades, and these make their way into my works. There has been a shift in my colour palette. Earlier his work often had very bright and saturated leaf colours over a more whitish background. Now this has swapped, where he has shifted to pastel hues.
