Considered to be national treasures, the NFT versions of The Coquette and Reclining Nair Lady, two of Raja Ravi Varma most famous paintings will be auctioned online on RtistiQ between 17th and 20th February 2022.
Ravi Varma was known for painting beautiful women. While he was equally recognised for painting mythological subjects and gods and goddesses, these two works – The Coquette and Reclining Nair Lady, are one of the most popular and recognizable works by the great painter to be considered as the first set to be dropped as an NFT Artwork.
His works exemplify the fusion of European academic art with Indian sensibilities and iconography. He was known to increase his reach with the public by making affordable lithographs of his paintings.
Raja Ravi Varma Heritage Foundation and gallery g have been consistently working towards preserving and promoting the artistic legacy of the great artist.
The NFT auction would be made accessible to everyone globally on RtistiQ’s website.
