Moksha Spa

Spread the love

A recent visit to Moksha Himalaya Spa Resort had me in spa bliss as I experienced several of their signature treatments.

I had several experiences including the Classic Abhyanga which is done by two therapists who work in synchronised fashion to ensure you are relaxed the session. The session starts with a prayer and the ringing of a small bell for positive vibrations. At the start a drop of rasandi churna is placed on my head to avoid any cold or cough. I am asked to sit and soak my feet in a bowl of warm water and as they are being massaged by one therapist, the other one does a head, neck, and shoulder massage.

Herbal medicated oil is used for the massage and post this I am asked to lie face down on the table. Drizzling the warm oil all over, the massage starts with the back of the feet when they give a nice massage using their knuckles that is a great stary to the session. After this the therapists use long strokes to massage the legs, back and hands using what seems like clearly connected strokes that involve applying pressure with fingers and hands.

The coordinated strokes are so well done that you cannot be blamed for falling into slumber. On turning over, the therapists continue the massage with identical stroke, covering the legs, stomach, and hands in sweeping long strokes. This is followed with a face massage and then I am asked to sit up and a final back and neck massage is done. Once I shower, the rasandi churna is once again placed on my head and the session ends with another prayer and the ring of a bell.
