There is an increased footfall in airport spas that are also seeing more usage as travellers look to relax and rejuvenate when flying.

As these spas are located within the airport, one can actually enjoy a mini vacation of sorts with these spas. As airport lounges get more premium, there are spas also located within these lounges as well. With most credit cards offering free lounge access, travellers have more access to spas than ever before. This is also one of the reasons being seen as the reason why these spas are becoming popular.

Simple treatments like foot massage, back massage or a quick head massage can be a great way to relieve travel stress. And this is exactly what one can enjoy at the airport spas.

The dynamic nature of airport operations are complex due to heightened security protocols and potential flight delays, which can impact the footfall and operational hours. Additionally, space constraints within terminals and the need to cater to a diverse demographic with varying time sensitivities require careful planning and flexible service offerings. Also, maintaining highly trained therapists and a consistently serene ambiance is an issue.

The personalisation of services, like leveraging AI to recommend treatments based on flight duration, destination, or even individual travel patterns are trending. Local cultural elements, expansion of airport infrastructure in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities also are fuelling demand for the concept.
