Here is part 2 of the story from Our Bangalore that is an opinion piece from Bangaloreans about what they want from the city they call home.

Prashant Kajaria, MD, SPA Group As Bangalore continues to expand, the way we live within the city must evolve. Once known as the garden city, it now grapples with congestion, noise, and a growing distance from nature. In this context, calm is no longer aspirational; it is essential.

H. A. Anil Kumar, Artist and Art Historian I wish to see a museum and archive of the fast-fading farming community that defined Bangalore, since the current focus is only on parks and golf grounds. It should also contain a high-end audio-visual presentation of the common people’s lifestyles, which excludes the already familiar landmark industries, factories, and celebrities. Install group statues of the various preoccupations of Bangaloreans instead of Ctrl+C+V of the same, some unidentifiable netas.

V. Vishwanath, Chairperson of the Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID), Bengaluru Regional Chapter (BRC) We are known as a garden city, an IT capital, and a friendly city where Kannadigas co-exist with other regions to make it vibrant and a cosmopolitan city.  With a huge influx of population descending on Bangalore, Bangalore must upgrade its roads, metro, suburban rail and interconnections between the three by the government.

Malini Goyal, Co-Founder & CEO, UnboxingBLR In 2026, I want Bangalore to slowly become a city that is better understood, where people have a sense of belonging and feel and care for the city. People must move beyond just working here to actively engage with it, explore its many layers sans silos—our tech legacy, the city’s diverse neighbourhoods—and experience its rich cultural heritage.
