Bangalore based photographer Clare Arni has been documenting the city through her eyes.
She started my career at the age of 22 in Bangalore to earn a living. “
I was self-taught and learnt on the job trying my hand at many genres. Initially I did Fashion photography with campaigns for Weekender and the Wearhouse. I did any work that came my way from photographing race horses to chickens and making black and white prints in my darkroom. I then settled for Architectural photography, shooting directly for architects, documenting their projects for publications and competition entries as well as for architectural and interior magazines.”
She worked not just for many Bangalore architects but also several projects for Charles Correa, BV Doshi, Geoffrey Bawa and Sanjay Mohe. For Charles Correa she documented the town Of Bagalkot before it was submerged by the dam and the house that he built for himself in Bangalore.
