The sparkling, shining, and light filled festival of the year is here. Yes, its Deepawali and Bengaluru is all geared up to welcome it.

This is also a festival of starting something new -especially a new business. Saurabh Agrawal, Founder, deNADA shares his thoughts:

“I grew up in a home where Diwali was never just about lights or sweets. It was about slowing down, sitting together, and really talking. My mother would tell us stories while we lit diyas, and every diya felt like a reminder that even when life gets dark, a small spark of honesty can still change everything. That ritual of lighting diyas together is something I’ve kept alive. Wherever I am, I take time to do it quietly before any celebration begins. It feels grounding. Over the years, I’ve also tried to bring back one small thing my parents used to do. They would visit old neighbors and exchange homemade sweets, even if they hadn’t spoken for months. That small gesture of showing up in person, not just sending a message, has stayed with me. I try to do the same now with my friends. That same feeling of connection, warmth, and truth is what inspired deNADA. When we started building it, we realized how dating apps today have lost that spark. It’s all swipes, filters, and algorithms, and very little real conversation. We wanted to bring that feeling of Diwali back into how people meet; a sense of genuineness, openness, and light. This year, I hosted a Diwali gathering at home that also became the launch of deNADA, the social dating platform I’ve been building. The idea was to celebrate new beginnings surrounded by people who matter. The house was full of friends, lights, food, music, and laughter. We wanted it to feel real and warm, not like an event but a celebration of connection. For me, launching it during Diwali wasn’t just timing. It was symbolic. It felt like beginning something meaningful in a season that already stands for hope and renewal.”
