Palak Sehgal is a bioengineer from India who moved to Copenhagen in 2016 for a guest-research role at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) from IIT Bombay.

One year later she co-founded Nordetect, which manufactures portable nutrient-testing systems that deliver water- and soil-analysis results in about five minutes and are used by greenhouse and vertical-farm growers worldwide, putting actionable precision agriculture data in growers’ pockets.

In 2024, she started Kasaya, a skincare line based in Copenhagen and India, that applies her lab experience and plant science expertise to face and body topical treatments. Kasaya products are made with blending Ayurvedic botanicals with Scandinavian bioactives and adopt Nordic clean-beauty standards to soothe skin, muscles and mind.

Palak also holds an MSc in Plant Genetics from the University of Nottingham, knowledge that supports Kasaya’s product R&D. Across both companies, Palak’s mission is constant—translate rigorous science into simple tools that help people and the planet thrive.
