Celebrated on the first Sunday of May each year, World Laughter Day is a reminder that we must laugh more.
Why is laughter a luxury?
- Cognitive exhaustion: Endless stress leaves no time for happiness.
- Social isolation: We “talk” online but really connect less.
- Judgment anxiety: Showing joy is occasionally perceived as childish or unprofessional.
- Busy lives: There are few minutes left for real fun or playfulness.
To bring more laughter into life:
- Be present and find joy in little things.
- Keep positive people around you.
- Forgive perfection and laugh at yourself.
- Create room for play and connection.
Conclusion: “A day without laughter is a day wasted.” Laughter doesn’t cost anything, but its worth is tremendous. It’s a simple, yet strong means of feeling alive, remaining connected, and embracing the joy of being human. So, don’t wait for laughter. Create room for it. Share it. Live it.
