Armed with a degree in economics, psychology, and English from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Public Health from Columbia University, Tanya Khubchandani Vatsa returned to India after years of working in preventive care at Weill Cornell and Montefiore in New York, determined to bring global best practices home.

In 2021, she founded Elixir Wellness, a first-of-its-kind luxury wellness collective that fuses international standards with local sensibilities : now spanning over 20 centers across India. From IV therapy and sports recovery to genomics-driven longevity programs, every treatment is doctor-customized, reflecting Tanya’s vision of creating a world-class ecosystem of preventive and aesthetic healthcare in India. Alongside leading Khubchandani Healthcare’s cancer and women’s hospitals, Tanya also channels her global voice as a Penguin-published author and digital creator with over two and a half lakh followers, using her platforms to bridge international insights with the evolving aspirations of Indian families.

Here are some insights from her:

“My career has unfolded in distinct chapters, each shaping a different part of who I am.

  • 2004–2008: At the University of Pennsylvania, studying Economics, Psychology, and English, I learned to think across disciplines — a skill that continues to anchor my work.
  • 2008–2010: My Master’s in Public Health at Columbia deepened my interest in systems, behaviour, and preventive care.
  • 2010–2014: Working at Weill Cornell Hospital and Montefiore Medical Group taught me how healthcare truly functions on the ground. Coaching doctors and care teams shaped my belief that communication and empathy are as critical as diagnostics.
  • 2014–2020: After returning to India, I spent a few years in healthcare with my father and experimented with a skincare line — experiences that strengthened my entrepreneurial instincts. I also worked on a couple independent business ideas that for different reasons I felt were ahead of their time for India.
  • 2021–Present: I founded Elixir Wellness as a small IV therapy centre. It has since grown into one of India’s most comprehensive preventive-care brands.

Every stage taught me resilience, clarity, and the courage to build something meaningful from scratch.

My journey as a creator started long before social media became what it is today. The Mommy Diaries began as a simple blog I wrote during the early years of motherhood—an honest space where I shared real experiences, not the filtered version of parenting the internet was used to. The response to those pieces was overwhelming, and it eventually led to Penguin India approaching me to turn those stories into a book. That’s how “All You Need To Know About Parenting” was born: a reimagined, deeply refined version of the blog that combined lived experience with research, humor, and practical guidance.

As the digital ecosystem evolved, so did my work. The blog grew into a community, which naturally expanded into Instagram, YouTube, and eventually the creator identity people know today. What has remained constant is my love for writing and for connecting through honest storytelling—whether it’s parenting, wellness, entrepreneurship, or the messy, wonderful reality of everyday life.

Today, that creator identity is a core part of my larger mission: to make conversations around wellbeing—physical, mental, emotional—more accessible and relatable. The platforms may have changed, but the intention has stayed the same.

For me, being a Global Indian means carrying India’s values, resilience, and cultural depth into every space I step into—while remaining open, curious, and connected to the world. I’ve studied abroad, worked in global institutions, and built a career that blends international exposure with distinctly Indian roots. That duality has shaped my worldview: I think globally, but I build with the heart and intuition of someone grounded in her community.

As an entrepreneur and single mother, being a Global Indian also means rewriting what success can look like for women—balancing ambition with compassion, science with tradition, and growth with responsibility. It’s about representing the India that is modern, fearless, and deeply rooted in wellbeing, while contributing meaningfully to conversations that go far beyond our borders.

In many ways, it’s a reminder that you can belong to the world without losing where you came from. Only that my journey—both as an entrepreneur and as a single mother—has taught me the power of reinvention. Elixir Wellness began as a one-room idea and has grown into a national brand because I refused to give up on building something meaningful, evidence-based, and rooted in care. Every centre we open, every client we impact, and every conversation we start around wellbeing is part of a much larger purpose: making preventive health accessible, aspirational, and deeply human. The next chapter is about scale, depth, and meaningful impact.”
