Located on the outskirts of Jaipur, the Ananta Spa & Resort is an oasis of calm surrounded by the Aravalli hills.
As you drive outside the Pink City of Jaipur, the landscape morphs from all things pink, well more terracotta hued buildings to a lush green. The recent spell of rains has helped too as the terrain is lush with greenery adding an interesting dimension to Jaipur’s otherwise dry climate.
I am headed to the Ananta Spa & Resort for a day and as we turn off the highway, the last seven kilometre stretch is quiet and allows you to experience a slice of rural life. Entering the large gate of the property, I am transported to another world. Spread over 38 acres, this property is designed with Japanese architectural sensibilities. The property has 160 rooms and the inventory will soon increase to 280 by 2025.
C.P. Rathore, General Manager explains that the property will soon be launched formally. “Our swimming pool will be readied soon. We have small waterfalls that surround this space and we will soon have our spa operational as well. We are about 10 km from Amer Fort and the evening sound and light show is something we recommend to our guests.”
My room was the expansive presidential suite (there are six such rooms) that has three bedrooms, a living area, private swimming pool, kitchen area, balcony and a jacuzzi in the main bedroom. The room is ideal for families as it allows both privacy and bonding. The retreat uses buggies for transport as the space is spread out.
What this means is that this property makes for great walks especially in the morning when you can see a nice sunrise and evenings where the sunsets are even more magnificent. I was lucky to see a pink hued sky that added an ethereal feel to the sprawling green lawns overlooking my balcony.
Nature lovers are in for a treat as the property has several local trees and landscape that is dotted with bright flowers. Bird watchers, like me, can spot several species as well. I saw the red wattled lapwing, Hoopoe, White throated Kingfisher, Indian Robin, Rose Ringed Parakeet, Magpie Robin and more just from the balcony of my room.
The resort is a great venue for weddings and events as it has one of the largest spaces in the city with the Sakura Banquet, spread over 16000 sq. ft., along with the Ikigai Garden and Satori Garden that allow for making the events special. The retreat offers state-of-the-art technology, customisable menus, and dedicated event planning services to ensure that the day is memorable.
Gaurav Mudgal, Vice President Commercial, Ananta Spa & Resorts, Jaipur says, “at Ananta Spa & Resorts, Jaipur, we take immense pride in offering the largest luxury inventory in the city, designed to host the grandest celebrations. With seven unique venues ranging from 90,000 sq. ft. to 7,000 sq. ft. and 280 rooms, we hold the distinction of having the largest inventory in the resort category. Our property features three elegant ballrooms, three expansive lawns, a stunning poolside venue, and a grand staircase, ideal for the traditional jaimala ceremony. This makes us the premier destination for hosting the big fat Indian wedding. Our exclusive wedding packages are crafted to ensure every celebration is unforgettable, with personalized services to meet every requirement and our dedicated wedding team transforms every moment spent at the hotel into a brilliant and unforgettable memory.”
Food at the retreat needs special mention. All meals are served at the 245 cover Shio Restaurant that offers an exquisite array of dishes that are made to perfection. From traditional Rajasthani cuisine to international delicacies, there is everything and more. Executive Chef Lokesh and his team ensured that all our meals were curated to perfection. From the Indian selection (corn and cheese cutlets, tofu chilli, dal panchmel, rotis) to Oriental (sushi, soba noodles, fried rice) to continental (hand rolled pasta and more), the meals stood out for their taste and stunning presentation.
