The fourth edition of the ‘Top Cities for Women in India (TCWI)’ report released by workplace culture consultancy Avtar Group crowns Bangalore as the best Indian city for women.
“Working at SecurEyes has reinforced my belief that safety and inclusion are not one-time achievements. Rankings such as the TCWI index are useful because they highlight progress, but they should also prompt continuous improvement. I agree with the findings of the report, but I see Bengaluru’s position as a responsibility rather than a conclusion. The real measure of success will be when every woman, regardless of background or neighbourhood, feels equally confident moving through and participating in the life of the city,” says Uma Pendyala, Business Operations Head, SecurEyes.
“As a doctor practicing in Bengaluru, the TCWI report ranking the city as the best Indian city for women in 2025 resonates with me, though with some important reflections. Such surveys are extremely relevant because they highlight not only safety but also access to education, employment, healthcare, and social mobility—factors that directly influence women’s physical and mental well-being,” says Dr Mangala Devi, Director, Smile Baby IVF & K C Raju Multi Speciality Hospital and President of BSOG (Bangalore Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology).
