Deval Delivala, Founder and CEO of Walkabout Active Agers Pvt. Ltd is a seasoned tech executive who spent eight years driving Uber’s international expansion.

Her leadership proved instrumental in scaling Uber’s presence across India, where she pioneered transformative initiatives in safety, vehicle financing, and leasing operations. Fueled by her conviction in empowering older adults, today, Deval is reimagining how seniors connect with technology and community, creating meaningful pathways for active ageing.

Deval’s journey started in Mumbai, where she earned her engineering degree before joining JP Morgan. There, her exposure to emerging tech giants like Google and YouTube sparked a passion for innovation that led her to UC Berkeley’s MBA program, where she immersed herself in Silicon Valley’s dynamic startup ecosystem.

India’s elderly population is 153 million today and will reach 347 million by 2050. By 2046, older adults will outnumber children for the first time in our history. These are not abstract numbers. They are our parents, our neighbours, and eventually, ourselves. So my plans are really about building the infrastructure that lets this generation thrive, not just survive. That means more cities, deeper communities, and spaces, both physical and virtual, where connection, purpose, and belonging come naturally. Older adults do not need to be managed. They need to be engaged. That is the work of the years ahead.
