Samir Kochhar is a host, actor and sports enthusiast who has made his presence felt on television, films, OTT platforms and more.
Samir Kochhar has been a familiar face for close to two decades now and his repertoire of work is extensive. After a five-month hiatus he is back on set and is hosting a unique interactive game show ‘The Bid & Win Show’ on the Flipkart App.
Having started in his career in the early 2000’s Samir grew up in Delhi with a family of academicians and doctors. For someone who did increasingly well in all extra circular activities, he moved on to acting in plays, hosting events and eventually moved to Mumbai. His first Hindi film was Sumeer Sabharwal’s bilingual Valentine Days and he has acted in several languages including movies like Housefull 3, Mango Dreams and Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna. His new Tamil film Adho Andha Paravai Pola is also ready for release. A popular face on television he has also been part of Balaji Telefilms hugely popular soap Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and has hosted the IPL show Extraaa Innings T20.
Recently he has worked on a slew of web shows like Typewriter, Sacred Games and Four More Shots Please 2. Hosting ‘The Bid & Win Show’ he admits has been good fun. “Flipkart is making a series of fun videos to engage the people on their platform and it is an interactive game show where people come up with a unique lowest bid to win a variety of products from home appliances, mobile phones, laptops, cameras and more.” Having worked across the spectra of platforms, he says he is fortunate to have experienced it all and enjoys them equally. “I came to Mumbai to be in front of the camera and am grateful for the opportunity to be in different shoes and do what I do. I try to choose my projects carefully and consciously as I want to like what I am doing and not be stuck in something forever.”
