The nine-day Navratri festivities is both a fast and a feast but it does not take away the fact that food is always celebrated on these days.

As the nine-day Dasara or Navratri festivities get underway, it is time to shine the spotlight on food which is integral to the festival. Interestingly, this is the time when many people fast – which is not about abstaining from food, but choosing food made with specific ingredients. What this means is that this is when you can treat your tastebuds to a burst of flavours.
