Prithvi Raj Singh Oberoi passed away earlier this week at 94, leaving behind a legacy that is hard to match.

Writing a tribute to someone like PRS Oberoi who redefined India’s luxury hospitality landscape is quite daunting, considering his lofty achievements.

However as I started writing this story, I could well imagine how attuned he was to all things luxury especially in hospitality. Incidentally at a recent stay at Trident Hyderabad for the launch of Bay Window, I spent a short time at the hotel where I could not help notice how courteous the staff was.

And when writing this story I was constantly reminded of that trip and how it was the legacy of PRS Oberoi that has stood the test of time and lives on through his vast chain of hotels.
