Review: GreenSole Shoes

Spread the love

A shoe that has a conscious soul, the shoes from GreenSole are unlike any other shoes you would have ever worn.

The first time I had heard of GreenSole was through a story I read about Shriyans Bhandari and Ramesh Dhami and how they were recycling shoes and making sure that those who could not afford shoes had a good pair of shoes to wear.

I choose the canvas slip on as its a shoe that can be used on all garments and for all occasions. The colour of the shoe is a light denim blue which blends in with any coloured garment too.

Slip On Dark Blue, a pair of slip-ons with quirky designs that is easy to wear and is comfortable as well. Slip it on and it gives great support to your feet. The best part is that the sole is made using an old shoe that has been re-melted and molded with discarded cork.

The upper portion of the shoe is made from rewashed canvas, with dye print. The shoe may feel heavy but it is completely breathable and comes with comfortable padding.

GreenSole recycles old shoes, makes new ones and donates them to children in need. To date the company has donated in excess of 3.3 lakh pairs of shoes. Every purchase you make will help this cause as well as the cause of the environment!

Once you have used the shoe and it has reached the end of life, you are encouraged to donate it back to GreenSole who will upcycle it again. How’s that for a shoe with a soul?

The packaging was great – a recycled box with a trendy reusable cotton bag. And of course a part of the revenue from your purchase would go towards refurbishing and donating footwear to children in need.

Disclaimer: I received the shoe for this review but all opinions expressed are my own.
