The Riverside Estate prides itself on being a zero-mile coffee company, which essentially means that the end-to-end process of growing, harvesting, processing and roasting coffee is carried out on the estate itself–and the coffee you drink at Riverside has not left the place. All coffee cherries are hand picked at the peak of their ripeness each season and sorted out into categories, after which they go through a distinct pulping, fermenting, dry, resting, and hulling process.
In addition to their zero-mile approach, the estate is also doing a series, Coffees Of Coorg, which opens up their platform to eight estate owners in Coorg and help take their coffee to a larger audience and introduces everyone to coffees from wildlife-adject plots to untouched forest belts, hoping that this brings out the most honest expression of Coorg’s coffee, directly from the planters to the aficionados.
Riverside Estate houses four private and premium one-bedroom cottages, with plans of expansion in the coming years. Privacy was a key factor kept in mind when the cottages were designed, and the roofs resemble different hills and slopes of Coorg—keeping the design minimal and natural using brick, stone, Mangalore tiles, and concrete.
