Sumeet Sarkar is an Emmy-recognized violinist, composer, and former orchestral manager and music director of the MIT Orchestra, where he collaborated closely with multi-Grammy winner Jacob Collier.

Based in Los Angeles, Sumeet is an active film composer with credits on Netflix, Apple TV, and Amazon, including the Emmy-nominated Home documentary and the Ruth Bader Ginsburg documentary. He has also led orchestras for the New England Emmy-winning documentary Imagination Off the Charts on Jacob Collier’s work.

Sumeet’s work blends orchestral mastery with a strong commitment to mental health awareness, using ambient and cinematic music to create deeply emotional experiences.

Some recent highlights:

  • Live Performances & Advocacy – Performed with Canadian rapper BBno$ at two major Los Angeles events: The Twitch Streamer Awards (Wiltern Theatre, hosted by Pokimane, streamed to 6M+ viewers) and Jacksepticeye’s Thankmas fundraiser, helping raise $3M for the Samaritans mental health charity.
  • Film Festival Screenings – Composed for multiple films screened at the Micheaux Film Festival in Los Angeles (2022 & 2024).
  • Hollywood Collaborations – Worked with Grammy-winning composer Lili Haydn on Ginny & Georgia (Netflix #1 series).
  • Artist Development – Orchestrated and produced for Miami singer-songwriter Carolena, blending orchestral textures with her pop/R&B sound.
  • Upcoming Projects – Recording his first orchestral album in Prague (April 2026), premiering his original works Fare Thee Well and Journey, which will also debut live at Joe Hagen’s Off the Dock Festival next year.
