The first meal of the day breakfast is always a good idea. After all the adage is that you should never skip breakfast.
A breakfast experience to remember at The Square in Novotel Hyderabad Airport
One of my most memorable breakfasts has been at Novotel Hyderabad Airport at their inhouse all day dine The Square. With a spread that is extensive – you have everything from South Indian to Continental and more, it was Chef Varun who worked as Executive Chef then who outdid himself to present a selection of curated dishes on my table. Some of the dishes that I sampled included a healthy version of upma made with quinoa that was served innovatively on a purple cabbage leaf. The softness of the quinoa and the crunch of the cabbage complemented each other perfectly. Next up was the Mangalore speciality Goli Bajji, a crisp flour based deep fried snack that has a porous consistency that melts in your
mouth. And interestingly this made a great combination with the local ginger chutney. This was followed up with a different kind of dosas, the Ragi Rava Dosa, that gave a healthy spin to the rava dosa, the Adai, a dosa made with various lentils, rice and a smattering of South Indian spices and the amazingly fresh Green Peas Dosa. The chutneys were different too – Kokum, Coriander and sesame, and Coconut and Tamarind as well as the assorted gun powder. And there was more Cocktail Idli in Stick, Cheese Gratin Usal Pav and Mushroom Wada – that was digested with ginger tea.
