Nahar Group has worked very closely with the Garden Department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and has successfully planted over 41,000 trees on a 13-acre land parcel in the city’s heart for fighting climate change and curbing pollution levels and would further assist the MC in increasing the green cover of Mumbai.

During his latest ‘Mann ki Baat’ episode, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about Miyawaki plantation, the Japanese method of creating dense urban forests in a small area. PM Modi had acknowledged and appreciated the efforts taken by Nahar Group in developing Mumbai’s Miyawaki Forest.

Creating green spaces in urban environments is also one of the top most priorities as a group. Keeping in line with this view point, we have slanted approximately 41,207 indigenous trees of 79 varieties along with a variety of shrubs, seasonal flowers, into the intensely compacted soil at Nahar Amrit Shakti Udyan. Some of the wild seasonal flowers it houses are Marigold, Sadaful, Balsam, Sunflower, Cocks Comb, Amaranth, Touch Me Not etc. & medicinal plants such as Brahmi, Tulsi, Halai, Sarpgandha, Ashwagandha etc. and trees like Amla, Bead, Neem, Sita Ashok, Peepal (Bodhi), Banyan, Indian Laburnum etc.
