Apartment R832, Delhi

Spread the love

Designed by UnBox Design team – Aman Issar and Shubham Aggarwal this is a home that has been made contemporary.

As you enter the living room, the heart of the home, flooded with natural daylight and adorned with earthy elements like creating a tranquil and inviting atmosphere. The richness of walnut veneer and the tactile comfort of leather infuse sophistication, while the earthy tones evoke a sense of harmony with nature. The room’s open layout maximizes the flow of natural light, further enhancing the serene ambiance, making it a welcoming haven for relaxation and connection to the outdoors.

Craftsmanship takes centre stage with meticulous attention to detail, radiating a sense of quiet luxury. This contemporary design provides a welcoming and elegant environment where culinary artistry and dining experiences flourish.

“With each project, we like to start from a clean slate and let the context guide us. We craft solutions within which the senses, and the physical experience of space, textures, and light place the integrity of the user at its core. Functionality, durability, and comfort are the prime components of our work. At UnBox believe true luxury transcends beyond cosmetic opulence and the actual investment is in the luxury of timeless well-lit, and well-ventilated healthy living spaces which are in dire shortage in Indian metropolitans. As a design practice, we do not restrict ourselves to ‘themes’. Here, connection with nature and the flexible needs of a growing urban family were paramount and shaped our material and design choices. It is a unique blend of modernist and contemporary minimal design with utilitarianism,” says Issar.

The living and dining space most must be the most challenging as well as their favourite space of the home. Converting smaller compartmentalised rooms to a large open plan space seamlessly connected both visually and functionally was a definite need for a growing urban family where they could spend their evenings and weekends together. It came with its own structural challenges and we are extremely proud that we could deliver on our endeavour on creating this little space of solace for the couple, a respite from the bustling city, offering a space where they can create memories and find serenity in a modern oasis nestled in Delhi’s heart.

They like creating ‘incidents’ in projects – perfect lines that are in tension with the imperfections of human craft. They do not proclaim to be the purveyors of beauty – everyone finds beauty at their own level.  Homes equate to personalization. The artwork, the objects, the colours, the texture, the imperfections of materials; everything should speak about the inhabitant. When people interact with these thoughtfully crafted spaces, that is when a house comes alive! This intangible energy is what we want our clients to come home to.

Every project we do has sustainability at its core, as it begins with the first decision they make for the space – what they choose to do and what they avoid doing. By abstaining from ‘trends’ and focusing on timelessness and craftsmanship, they ensure the spaces will feel fresh even a decade later. By custom-making furniture, they have ensured multi-functional pieces do more with less.  They have been sustainable by utilising resources smartly. By opening every space to green verdant views and ample natural light, they have ensured minimal dependence on artificial lighting and ventilation. Every detail is well-thought, nothing is superfluous or excess.
