
Dandeli is the fifth largest tiger reserve in Karnataka and is home to a variety of flora and fauna and is probably one of the easiest places to spot the Malabar Pied Hornbill.
A paradise for bird lovers, Dandeli is home to the Kali Anshi tiger reserve and is a must visit for nature enthusiasts. On a recent trip I had the fortune of seeing the place in all its pristine glory.
Apart from the resident Pied hornbill which I was lucky to spot many times, I also saw orange headed thrush, Tickell’s blue flycatcher, Paradise flycatcher, Verditer flycatcher, white-rumped shama, bronzed drongo, golden oriole and more.
