Hair Colours for Summer

Spread the love

The type of hair colours best suited for summer are the ones that do not need pre-bleaching because summer is the hot season where any colour with bleach can cause more damage to the hair.

Therefore, choose the colours where natural hair does not need to be bleached, and then it can be done with the existing hair colour.

And when your hair is coloured, understand that the hair is more sensitive and more prone to breakage. So make sure that you are reducing the heating and styling to a minimum. Do not use a hair dryer very frequently. Do not use the straightening irons and curling irons and blow dries and all frequently because that will cause way more damage to your hair, especially when it is coloured.

What you can do is use a deep conditioning mask once a week and follow up with conditioners after each shampoo. Use a mild shampoo, especially for colored hair, use a shampoo that is sulphate and paraben free because that will protect the hair colour and make the hair less dry. So to maintain the hair color, avoid excessive exposure to the sun because sun can fade the colour faster. Use colour protection shampoo and conditioner.

Avoid blow drying frequently and hair heat treatments so that the hair colour stays slightly longer. And use a shampoo with sulphates and paraben free, which is shampoo that is appropriate for coloured hair. That way the hair colour will stay for longer onto your hair.

While hair colouring is a great way of adding a change onto your hair, it is important to know when to do it. If you are having any hair fall currently or if you are already experiencing hair thinning, then hair colour might not be the best option for you to do right away. You have to make sure that you check your deficiencies. Take some supplements to manage the hair fall first, and only then opt for hair colouring.

And when it comes to colouring for gray hair coverage, make sure you are using a hair colour that does not have ammonia but it should also not have PPD which is paraphenylamine diamine which is another ingredient that can cause issues like hair fall and pigmentation on the skin. So when you are using hair dyes or hair colors for gray hair coverage, make sure that the hair color has no ammonia but importantly no PPD as well. This will make sure that it does not cause harm to your skin and for the younger generation who are graying before the age of 35 or 40, it is not recommended to regularly use hair colors – even for gray hair coverage.

You may use it four to five times in a year when you have an important occasion so that you do not fall into this habit at a young age. Because this will you will need to keep doing the gray hair coverage. So only if it is absolutely necessary you can use the safe hair color without ammonia and without PPD.
