Water is the elixir of life and a museum in Bangalore is making a case for the same by both educating and helping guests to make the most of this valuable resource.

Did you know that the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has a museum where you can actually learn all about how to save water? Well, read on to know more.

The terracotta hued façade that reads ‘Sir M. Visvesvaraya Rain Water Harvesting Theme Park’ is set amidst verdant green landscapes and a stone path leads you to the main building shaped as a large water tank. Entering the space, the first thing that catches your eye is an image that shows a face and hands holding water with a message that we all know but tend to forget – “every drop falling on the earth counts.”

There is also a poster that explains why it is important to harvest rain especially as it recharges the groundwater table level. The museum is divided into different sections, the sewage gallery, water gallery and main gallery where there are exhibits and infographics. The curvilinear structure gives a sense of fluidity to the space while making navigation simple.
