Lip Balms

Spread the love

Lip Balms are made with nourishing ingredients that help provide deep moisture and hydration to the lips. They are formulated to create a protective barrier over the lips that safeguard them from external damage and restores moisture. Plant-based oils such as castor oil, mineral oil, and moisturizers such as shea butter, also form a part of a good lip balm.

First evaluate what does one need a lip balm for; everyday use with SPF, for cracked and chapped lips, just to keep the moisture locked, or are you looking for a lip balm that can give your lips a natural flushed colour? Once you know what your need is then second step is to see the ingredients. Look at the ingredients in lip balms just as you would do for a skincare product but be more cautious since we actually eat the lip balm ingredients while drinking water or eating food so we need to be sure of the ingredients we are using

Smooth, soft lips are not only visually appealing but also feel more comfortable. Lip balms with emollient properties, such as cocoa butter or almond oil, help to nourish and condition the lips, leaving them feeling soft and smooth. Lip balms serve as an excellent base for lipstick or lip gloss. By applying a layer of lip balm before your favorite lip color, you not only ensure a smoother application but also provide an additional layer of hydration and protection. In conclusion, lip balms are essential for restoring moisture and hydration to our lips. They provide hydration, protection, healing, and softness, making our lips more comfortable and visually appealing.

Tips

  • Apply lip balm regularly.
  • Use a lip balm with SPF.
  • Choose a lip balm with natural ingredients.
  • You must never apply a moisturizer to your lips.
  • Do not peel your chapped lips.
  • Avoid fragrances and flavouring, menthol, camphor, eucalyptus, and waxes. These are generally strong and may cause discomfort in the already cracked lips.
  • Buy a small sized lip balm, which is handy and can be carried in a pocket.
  • If after applying the lip balm there is stinging and burning on the lips, wash off the lip balm and apply an ice pack. If the symptoms don’t subside, meet a dermatologist.
  • If you’re allergic to plant-based oils
  • Applying desi ghee also acts as an effective barrier and has healing properties. Virgin coconut oil also works as a close substitute.
