It is that time of the year again when Onam comes knocking. Bengaluru celebrates the festival with its own fervour.
It’s Onam once again and we showcase the Sadhya, an inextricable aspect of the festivities that is easily one of the most extensive meals of any festival.
Onam is always marked by a grand feast, also called Onasadhya (meaning feast) that traditionally has 23-28 vegetarian dishes prepared for this grand feast and served to the family and friends on banana leaves.
Payasam is an important part of the festival as it reflects the sweet taste of harvest. Rice, jaggery, coconut milk, ghee, jackfruit is used in different payasams.
