If you are looking for a hearty dish, there is seldom anything that can come close to a soup. And the best part is that more often than not it is also healthy.
Often called an appetizer, a soup is a dish that has the ability to warm the cockles of your heart. Personally I love soups and usually always order one when I am eating out. I also feel it is a good way to start a meal as it gives the stomach a good base to enjoy the rest of the meal.
The best part about soups is that it is a dish that is inclusive – as it can be made in so many ways and using so many ingredients – vegetarian or otherwise. What probably will limit you is your imagination.
When making a soup the trick is to think out of the box, and then see the magic happen. Often vegetables that are usually on the hate list can becoming appealing. Case in point at home is sweet pumpkin. The soup however is usually a winner. You can also have them cold or hot too.
