Located within proximity of the city, there are several sites that are waiting to be discovered, one place at a time.
If you are looking to see some offbeat sights around Bangalore, these places must be on your list. The best part is that you can discover them one after the other as you drive towards the international airport.
Chikkajala Fort
The place is quite magnificent even though it is quite derelict as of now. The fort walls were built during Tipu Sultan’s era between 1750 and 1799. The star attraction is the beautiful and large stepwell here, the Chikkajala’s Kalyani.
Devanahalli Fort
An archway leads you into the premises, and a small memorial with a pillared enclosure marked with a stone tablet with the words ‘Tipu Sultan’s birthplace’ indicates the importance of this space.
Lepakshi
The main attraction here is the Veerabhadra Swamy Temple that dates to the 16th century. Do not miss the large, monolithic Lepakshi Bull statue at the entrance, carved from a single granite stone here.
