Chef Akash Deshpande, the chef and co-owner of Luv Restaurant in Andheri. Chef Akash’s journey into the culinary world began at seventeen, washing dishes, before taking him across Canada, Doha and India, where he honed his craft with brands and restaurants including Benchmark, Earls, Croft Alley, Olive, Toast & Tonic and Impresario.
Over the years, he has developed a philosophy he calls “Palette Meets Palate”, an approach that brings together flavour, texture and presentation to create experiences that are both thoughtful and memorable. Living with dyslexia has also shaped his creative process, influencing the way he visualises and approaches food. Drawing inspiration from art and classical techniques, his cooking balances refinement with familiarity and places ingredients at the centre of every dish.
Today, alongside his brother, Chef Akash leads Luv Restaurant, where every dish and cocktail is inspired by memories, people and experiences meaningful to them. His collaborative approach and belief that food is both a craft and a form of creative expression continue to define the restaurant’s evolving identity.
