All About Veneers

Veneers are being used in wall panels, cabinetry, and furniture and even ceiling applications. Veneers are being applied to baseboards, crown moulding, and other trim elements. Flexible veneers are also being produced in a thickness of 0.7 – 1.0 mm which are used for cladding of curved surfaces and wrapping of profiles. They are being used for Lighting and Reflective Effects. Many veneer manufacturer source wood from forests that are managed according to sustainable practices, certified by organizations like the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and production of veneers taking place in ISO 14001 and 9000 certified plants.  Lot of veneers like teak, Eucalyptus, Birch, Mahogany are increasingly being produced from wood sourced from commercial plantations which are environment friendly and sustainable.

The real wood veneer layer gives the floor the appearance of solid hardwood, while the engineered construction provides stability and durability. Veneer flooring typically comes in click-and-lock or glue-down formats, making installation easier and faster compared to traditional hardwood flooring. However, veneer flooring cannot be refinished as many times as solid hardwood, due to the thinness of the wood layer. It’s important to consider that if the surface gets damaged beyond the finish, repairs might be more challenging
