Amit Srivastava, an alumnus of IIT Delhi celebrated for his captivating collection of award-winning artworks in classical realism, is making a triumphant return to Bangalore. Embarking on his artistic journey more than a decade ago in the vibrant city, he is set to unveil his exceptionally distinctive solo exhibition at Gallery Time & Space, Bangalore, running from January 20th (Saturday) to January 28th (Sunday), 2024.

The art show ‘Unfettered’ serves as a tribute to the spirit of modern Indian woman, celebrating her self-reliance, independence, and empowerment. Over the past few decades, women have been stepping out of traditional roles to become inspirational figures.

Set against diverse backdrops, the narrative of the show seamlessly weaves together the shattering of glass ceilings with the moments of unfettered expressions. The art vividly captures women unwinding from their fast paced modern life in various settings – vibrant cafes, softly lit bars, during solitary journeys, expressing themselves through reflections, music, dance or prayer. The artist’s gaze seemingly discovers them in personal realms within public spaces, highlighting rich introspective moments in the lives of contemporary women. Through the language of art, the exhibition sparks conversations about individuality, underscoring the significance of empowering women to live life on their own terms.

It encourages observers to reflect on the progress made and the ongoing efforts to achieve unfettered independence. The artist skilfully combines a mastery of the human form with a discerning design sense, resulting in captivating compositions. The adept interplay of light and shadow elevates each piece, showcasing a profound understanding of representational art. The use of vibrant, complementary colours enhances visual contrast, guiding viewers through a mesmerizing array of visual storytelling.
