Custard is a dish that has many childhood memories attached for me as it was also a dessert that I would have on a special occasion.

Growing up in Hyderabad in the 80’s custard was a dessert that always had a sense of something different for me. Usually eaten with chopped fruits – it was also my introduction to different flavours. A quintessential ‘Western’ dish custard evokes a sense of nostalgia as well. Even though I do not really eat it now, it is one of my earliest memories of a sweet dish.

While Chocolate custard day is celebrated on May 3rd every year you do not really need one day to celebrate this much loved dish.
