If you are looking for a destination in Sri Lanka that is unusual and offers interesting sights, look at Habarana.

As a nature lover I have been fortunate to visit the Habarana region twice last year. I went to an amazing property called Jetwing Vil Uyana earlier in the year and then to Habarana Village by Cinnamon. Over these trips I explored the region and found several interesting things to see and do.

Some of these include a visit to a village – a mock setup that shows you how the villagers live, cook and eat. There are also several local rides you can take – a tuk tuk, bullock cart and a boat.

If you love wildlife and elephants in particular you are in for a treat in this region. Enjoy local food, spot birds, and soak into the pleasures of simple life – Habarana has it all.
