Have you ever seen plastic converted into fabric being woven on a handloom? Well this is what I saw at Vijayanagar, Karnataka when I headed to see Sakhi by JSW Foundation.

The JSW Foundation has collaborated with EcoKaari, to set up a plastic offsetting and upcycling and livelihoods generation program in Vijayanagar, Karnataka.

The team is working towards generating alternate livelihoods for women from vulnerable backgrounds by upcycling more than 4,000 kilograms of plastic waste plastic monthly into handcrafted products such as tote bags, purses, pouches, bags, laptop sleeves and more.
