Across India there is a quiet movement that is happening as Sanskrit is making unexpected inroads in daily life.
Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Without the study of Sanskrit, one cannot become a true Indian and a true learned man.” While the language has been an essential aspect of the cultural fabric of the country, it has been seeing a sure but steady rise in the last few years.
And for anyone who wants to delve deeper, there are proper courses being offered at many educational institutes across the country. For instance, at the Karnataka Samskrit University (KSU) in Bengaluru, the leafy campus offers a variety of courses, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and University (D.Litt., Ph.D., and M.Phil.) as well as Directorate Courses and Bridge courses to bring students up to speed.
In September 1994, Samskrit Bharati decided to launch their magazine Sambhashana Sandesha Patrika. This is a multi-coloured magazine which is also abroad and has a readership of over 125000. It is the only magazine which is an audio magazine as well. The app Sambhashana Sandesha allows you to subscribe to an e-magazine, and you can listen to the magazine – all editions are available too.
