The Bangalore metro is not just a lifeline for commuters but also a way to connect with the city that is evolving in its own unique way.

The metro has been in the news for the wrong reasons lately; that has garnered some negative press. A technical assessment by IISc transportation expert Prof Ashish Verma indicates that integrating elevated roads with Metro Phase-3 could push commuters towards private vehicles, weaken metro ridership, increase emissions, and add nearly Rs 2864 crore to project costs. On June 23rd, a failure caused by a current collector device fault caused significant disruptions on the purple line. But to give credit where it is due, the metro is a lifeline, and not all news is negative. A city-based AI engineer and entrepreneur, Anil Pai, posted a selfie with the BJP MP Tejasvi Surya on the Metro, where he pitched his startup to Surya, turning an ordinary commute into an unexpected networking opportunity.
