Popyuli, while revisiting how they curate and frame objects for the home, they found themselves thinking deeply about editing — not as minimalism, but as responsibility.

In a time of visual and material excess, the act of choosing less, and choosing with intention, began to feel like a design decision in itself. This perspective has influenced how they bring together materials and objects, and has raised broader questions for us around authorship, restraint, and longevity in contemporary home design.

They have recently launched a material-led curation focused on stone (The Stone Edit). It brings together pieces from independent studios and makers, chosen for their material presence and the quiet way they hold space — as a counterpoint to visual excess and constant trend-chasing.

Stone is becoming a trend in décor as most of us live entirely inside human-made environments, sealed apartments, climate-controlled offices, engineered everything. “In Indian cities especially, there is a deep, instinctive desire to bring something genuinely natural into that space,” says Palak Jain, Founder, Popyuli.

This is what design professionals call biophilic design, the idea that humans are wired to feel better in proximity to natural materials.
